The company behind SRL
Northmark Materials builds industrial infrastructure for recovering lumber from end-of-life buildings and industrial applications. The work sits across logistics, processing and manufacturing, and treats recovered lumber as a supply-chain input, not a salvage product.
What Northmark does
Northmark is developing its first Integrated Hub in Edmonton. The hub is designed to recover lumber from residential and commercial structures taken down through certified panelized disassembly, and to process it into Specification-Grade Recovered Lumber (SRL™): a graded, documented, non-structural material input. Throughput is capacity-led and grows with commissioned equipment and verified recovery yield.
How the system connects
Recovered material only becomes supply when each handoff is defined. Northmark works with partners at each stage:
Disassembly
- Developing certified panelized disassembly protocols with All West Demolition, so material qualifies before it leaves the site.
Distribution
- Working with Trail Building Supplies so SRL moves through existing wholesale channels.
Municipal and provincial bodies
- Working with public agencies on how recovery fits within existing permitting and diversion reporting.
Classification
- Maintaining the SRL classification, which defines how recovered fibre is graded, moisture-specified and traced before release.

Jay Sanderson
President & Operations Lead
Jay leads hub development, recovery workflows and processing systems. He is accountable for execution discipline, safety compliance and material quality assurance.

Kirk Bentham
Executive Vice President, Commercial
Kirk leads commercialization and category development: market development, stakeholder relations, and the frameworks that govern SRL and its downstream integration. He takes on business operations at commissioning.
